Calculations in your browser

The benchmark board and budget arithmetic run in the browser. No account is required to compare states. The first-party interaction code records that a visitor used a tool, rather than transmitting quoted rents, wages or other calculator fields. This distinction does not mean an internet visit is anonymous: the hosting service receives normal request information needed to deliver the page, and browser software can retain the page in history.

A shared link can reveal your amounts

Comparison links place two jurisdiction codes in the URL fragment after the hash character. Budget links can include the worksheet’s entered fields. An ordinary HTTP request does not send that fragment to this site’s server, but it remains visible to people receiving the link, the chosen sharing service and anyone with access to your browser history. Review a link before sharing it. Reset the worksheet and create a fresh link if you need to remove private figures from a comparison.

Basic traffic events

The site’s first-party events may include the page path, a short event label, referral host, acquisition category and broad mobile or desktop classification. A random page-view value groups events within that view; it is not written to a cookie or browser storage for later visits. Entered calculator values are excluded from the event payload. The Worker removes query strings from recorded paths and restricts the accepted event names and categories. It reads the browser’s user-agent header only to discard crawlers and automated test browsers and does not store it, and a browser that reports automation sends no events.

Cloudflare page performance reports

The existing Cloudflare Web Analytics script loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com and sends performance reports to this domain’s /cdn-cgi/rum endpoint. These reports are separate from the publisher’s traffic events and correction messages. A report can include navigation type, referring address, browser and operating-system characteristics, a page-view identifier, transfer sizes, timings and Core Web Vitals. The reported page address excludes its query string and fragment. The script does not read your purchase amount, sales-tax rate or household budget fields.

Cloudflare processes the report request and connection information under its service policies. A performance report does not save a purchase receipt or household calculation. Browser privacy controls can prevent reporting. The published page keeps the existing public beacon and its configuration explicit so the built and delivered HTML can be compared. Messages you choose to send

The corrections form stores the page path, problem category, message and optional reply address. Those fields are deliberately submitted to the editorial queue and are separate from local calculation inputs. Leave employer documents, home addresses, account numbers and sensitive household details out of a report. A source citation and an invented numerical example are normally enough to describe a data or calculation problem. The endpoint returns a received status only after storage succeeds.

Other services and changes

Source links lead to government websites with their own processing policies. Browser printing and system sharing use your device’s chosen applications. This release does not enable advertising units or partner ad loaders. Any later advertising integration must be described here before activation. To raise a question about a submitted message, use the contact channel and identify the report without repeating sensitive material. The editorial team cannot control copies of a link already delivered to another recipient.
